The Indian River is in the north of the island, Portsmouth the second largest town of Dominica, part of the Saint John Parish.
This boat-trip along mangrove-lined river is perfect for the bird watcher or nature-lover. The area is a coastal wetland dominated by the spectacular butressed Bwa Mang trees.
The river runs from Portsmouth, in the West, deep into Morne Diablotin. The river lies just below sea level and so the water is a mixture of Freshwater and salt water.
At the end of the trip there is a bar, hidden deep away in the jungle, serving delicious local delicacies and extremely strong home made rum punch. Dynamite !!
